Meet the Doctor

IMG_1170.jpgDuring high school and college I spent most of my time participating in one sport or another.  I knew early on that taking care of my body, inside and out, was the basis for a successful performance.  Not surprisingly, there were many aches, injuries and pain that came along with the training.  Then I discovered Chiropractic!  This was a healthy way to help me work out the kinks and keep doing what I loved.  What a wonderful discovery!

As I learned more about chiropractic, I realized that I could not only better understand the way the body worked but also about the innate ability to heal.  I graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1987 and needless to say, my first practice was geared toward treating athletes.

In 1992, I was one of the first primary care providers to incorporate other healthcare specialties into my patients treatment plan.  My team included a massage therapist, a physical therapist, a dentist and a medical doctor.  This is mainstream now, but back then it was out of the norm.  My holistic, team approach to patient care was innovative and quickly adopted by others.  In 1994 I worked in a large multi-discipline practice in Brooklyn and offered chiropractic to the patients.  I had such a large following that I had to sneak out the backdoor to leave at night!! (Never mind Elvis…..Dr. Pat has left the building!)

In 1998 I became interested in neurodiagnostics.  I not only wanted to free those nerves and help maintain their optimal flow, but I also wanted to "see" and "hear" what they were saying.  I studied neurodiagnostics in residence at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in both the clinical and operating room setting.

In 1999 I was offered a position to start up a intraoperative monitoring program at a high volume hospital in New York and in 2001 I was offered a position at New York University School of Medicine to supervise their intraoperative monitoring service and collaborate with the Brain Research Lab at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.  This was truly an experience.

At the age of 44, I gave birth to my wonderful daughter, Alyssa.  For the last three years, my education has has been in a very different format.....parenting!  There is no textbook for this challenge.

So, you can see how I have crossed many uncharted territories, but the good news is that I bring it all home to Montclair and offer my broad scope of knowledge and expertise to you, my neighbor.

It would be a privilege to assist you in your healing process.

Yours in Health,

Patricia Signorello, D.C.
